House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy sent a letter Sunday to ABC News demanding answers surrounding allegations that the network killed a 2015 story about dead alleged child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, journalist Megyn Kelly said. ABC News has come under fire after Project Veritas released a video of anchor Amy Robach Nov. 5 complaining that the network killed her interview with Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre. The anchor said Buckingham Palace threatened ABC News after finding out Prince Andrew was a part of the story and added that she “had all of” the reporting years ago.

Prosecutors are preparing charges against two guards who were on duty the night financier and registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell. The charges are expected to be filed as soon as Tuesday, two people familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News. The guards are expected to be charged with falsifying records the night they were on duty but are not said to have any bearing on the determination that Epstein died by suicide. The guards were said to have falsified documents to indicate they were regularly checking on the inmate. Two spokespeople for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York declined to comment on the reported charges. Epstein's prison guards may have been asleep on the job...

Fifty years ago, astronaut Pete Conrad stepped out of the lunar module onto the surface of the moon.
His first words were: "Whoopie! Man, that may have been a small one for Neil, but that's a long one for me."
Conrad, who stood at just 5 feet 6 inches tall, was only the third human to set foot on the lunar surface. He did it on November 19, 1969, just four months after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made the first lunar landing. However, unlike Armstrong and Aldrin, Conrad and fellow astronaut Alan Bean are not household names.
Their mission, Apollo 12, remains largely unknown, according to Teasel Muir-Harmony, the curator of the Apollo Collection at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. And it's a shame, because it was, frankly, a really fun trip, she says.
"This crew was hilarious," Muir-Harmony says. "They were really entertaining."

Cambridge University Press: Unique Infant Mortuary Ritual at Salango, Ecuador, 100 BC
Abstract: The human head was a potent symbol for many South American cultures. Isolated heads were often included in mortuary contexts, representing captured enemies, revered persons, and symbolic “seeds.” At Salango, a ritual complex on the central coast of Ecuador, excavations revealed two burial mounds dated to approximately 100 BC. Among the 11 identified burials, two infants were interred with “helmets” made from the cranial vaults of other juveniles. The additional crania were placed around the heads of the primary burials, likely at the time of burial. All crania exhibited lesions associated with bodily stress. In this report, we present the only known evidence of using juvenile crania as mortuary headgear, either in South America or globally.
