Recorded on Friday, February 20th, Jason Cousineau and Eric Renderking Fisk talk about the coverage of the Coronavirus and the conspiracy theories about its origins. Then the topic changes to Tom O’Neil’s book, Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties. News.com.au: (Austrailia) Mystery lab next to coronavirus epicentre Just 30 kilometres from where the coronavirus originated, there is a mystery lab one expert claims is part of a secret biological weapons program.

But Prof Narang doubts the 2019-nCoV virus is an escaped bioweapon: “It would be a terrible bioweapon because of blowback. A good bioweapon, in theory, has high lethality but low, not high, communicability.”

Australian defence analyst Dr Malcolm Davis tweeted: “I’m not convinced that there is evidence yet to support the theory that this BL-4 R & D facility in #Wuhan is responsible for the #coronavirus outbreak. Its proximity is interesting though.

Washington Times: "Virus-hit Wuhan has two laboratories linked to Chinese bio-warfare program Virology institute there has China's only secure lab for studying deadly viruse," By Bill Gertz | January 24, 2020

The deadly animal virus epidemic spreading globally may have originated in a Wuhan laboratory linked to China’s covert biological weapons program, according to an Israeli biological warfare expert. Radio Free Asia this week rebroadcast a local Wuhan television report from 2015 showing China’s most advanced virus research laboratory known the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Radio Free Asia reported. The laboratory is the only declared site in China capable of working with deadly viruses.

Dany Shoham, a former Israeli military intelligence officer who has studied Chinese bio warfare, said the institute is linked to Beijing’s covert biological weapons program. “Certain laboratories in the institute have probably been engaged, in terms of research and development, in Chinese [biological weapons], at least collaterally, yet not as a principal facility of the Chinese BW alignment,” Mr. Shoham told The Washington Times. Work on biological weapons is conducted as part of a dual civilian-military research and is “definitely covert,” he said in an email. Mr. Shoham holds a doctorate in medical microbiology. From 1970 to 1991 he was a senior analyst with Israeli military intelligence for biological and chemical warfare in the Middle East and worldwide, holding the rank of lieutenant colonel.

China in the past has denied having any offensive biological weapons. The State Department, in a report last year, said it suspects China has engaged in covert biological warfare work. A Chinese Embassy spokesman did not return an email seeking comment.

CCN: Israeli Analyst Says One Coronavirus Conspiracy Theory Is Less Crazy Than You Think Unconfirmed reports suggest the Wuhan Coronavirus may be a bioweapon developed at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Internet sources speculate that the Wuhan coronavirus could be linked to the covert Chinese bioweapons program. While the reports are unconfirmed, they are troubling. Regardless of its origin, the Wuhan coronavirus is spreading around the world with confirmed cases in Asia, Europe and North America. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Wuhan coronavirus is a biological weapon that was either accidentally or intentionally released from research facilities in Hubei province, China. While these reports are unconfirmed, they shed light on the panic gripping the internet as the new disease continues to mutate into more deadly and virulent forms.

Daily Star: "China deploys 40 incinerators to Wuhan amid fears of coronavirus death toll 'cover up' Chinese media reports that the mobile furnaces – used for burning animal carcasses and medical waste – have been shipped to the centre of the Covid-19 outbreak." By Henry Holloway Chief Reporter | February 19th, 2020

China has reportedly deployed 40 industrial incinerators to the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak Wuhan. Chinese media reports that the furnaces have been shipped to the city amid ongoing fears the death toll is being covered up. NTD reports that the cabins are for the disposal of animal carcasses, while China Ship news reports the incinerators are for medical waste.

Wuhan has been at the centre of the global epidemic which has infected more than 75,000 people and killed more than 2,000.

It is believed the virus spread from bats to other animals in the so-called “wet markets” in the city before being passed to humans.

Sources quoted in Chinese media raise questions over whether or not the incinerators are for animals, or will be used to dispose of human remains.

Washington Examiner: Was coronavirus a bioweapon? We don't know, but history shows we can't trust China by Michael Rubin | February 18, 2020

Thanks to Beijing’s censorship, news about the coronavirus came too little too late in order to contain the outbreak successfully. Even though the coronavirus has to date been far less lethal than the flu, its long incubation period has ensured its spread as asymptomatic carriers spread around the globe. The Chinese government’s silence has at best created uncertainty and raised many questions. At worst, the silence has bred conspiracy. After Tom Cotton raised questions in a Fox News interview about whether the coronavirus originated in a Chinese biological warfare or military laboratory, the press criticized the Republican Arkansas senator for allegedly dabbling in conspiracy. However, with so many unanswered questions, a bit more caution might be warranted on the part of the press. It is just as irresponsible to trust any information put forward by the Chinese government as it is to voice theories absent evidence.
