Sarah Turney - “Voices for Justice”

The Fedora Chronicles Radio Show · Sarah Turney - “Voices for Justice”

Eric Renderking Fisk | June 1st, 2020

This time I talk with Sarah Turney about her website and podcast - Voices For Justice and how she took the tragedy of losing her older sister and learning the truth about her father's criminal behavior and turned it her life's mission for justice. While she fights to share with the rest of the world about what really happened to Allysa Turney and what it was like to discover her dad was planning an act of terrorism, she has become a victim advocate and an inspiration for all of us fellow survivors.

“My name is Sarah, the host of this podcast. Season one is a deep dive into my sister, Alissa Turney's, missing persons case. It's a long and complicated story. Our father, is and always has been the only "person of interest" in this case. When I was 19 the police found that my father was hiding 26 pipe bombs and a manifesto for a mass murder plot. That day, the detectives on Alissa's case sat me down and told me that my father was a pedophile and a murderer. It took me awhile to believe he was guilty... but then I came around.

Alissa's story has been told many times. But never by me from start to finish. I am going to dissect every piece of this story that I can remember in hopes of garnering media pressure for her case and hopefully raise some awareness along the way.

After I tell Alissa's story, I am going to feature other stories from people like me. Stories of people actively fighting for justice. If you are or know someone fighting for justice and would like your story featured, please submit your story below.

Don't just listen to our stories, be a part of them.”

Frm "JUSTICE FOR ALISSA"

"My name is Sarah, I'm Alissa's younger sister.  I run this website and The Justice for Alissa Movement. That is my favorite picture of me and Alissa. If you look closely you can see a small tear in her right eye. She was crying because she wanted to hold me, she was only four. Our older brother told her that if she did, she would most definitely drop me and kill me. She had a meltdown. Until, she was sat down and I was put in her arms...  she never stopped fighting for me and I will never stop fighting for her.

It's been a crazy ride.

The plan was to prosecute him for her murder once he was released for the bombs. They told me that way, he couldn't combine sentences and serve less time. But, days before his release, the Phoenix Police Department reassigned the detectives that spent a decade of their lives dedicated to this case and told me they were not going to present this case to be prosecuted without a body. They refuse to look for that body. They recommended media coverage and that has been my mission ever since. 10 million+ media impressions later, this movement is becoming a force to be reckoned with. All because of people like you.

The circumstantial evidence in this case is overwhelming. There have been several no body cases tried and won. Several in Alissa's county. I am not asking for a precedent to be set. I'm asking for a chance at a trial. But, I can't do it alone. I need your help. Get involved now."
