The Parasitic Elite and Obtuse Entitled Class
Commentary by Eric Renderking Fisk | March 20th, 2019
What happened this time?
For folks who haven’t heard yet, this past week a handful of celebrities and CEO’s of large corporations where caught up in a scandal and are being prosecuted for all kinds of things like wire fraud, bank fraud, and bribery. Who did they bribe? The administrators of college admissions boards to buy a space for their underperforming children in those specific schools.
Caught up in all of this and making this scandal worse than it really needed to be, is Lori Laughlin. Yes, “Aunt Becky” from “Full House,” and up until now she had a starring role in two shows on The Hallmark Channel until she was fired after she was arrested and released on bond. As the allegations against Lori Loughlin and her husband were made public the media has been pouring over their daughter’s – Olivia Jade and the beneficiary of the bribery of college officials – social media accounts and on YouTube and Instagram they have found a treasure trove of material that proves this young lady isn’t really college material. She’s clearly more suited for a career in modeling or other activities that don’t tax her mental facilities.
The news headline that really launched this news topic off the launch pad that tells you all you really know about this scandal read; “Lori Loughlin’s daughter on USC chairman’s yacht when college scandal broke.” That incident in this scandal might be innocent, but the optics weren’t helping to sway the public opinion that the corruption doesn’t run much deeper or much higher.
It's Not A Conspiracy Theory Any More...
The best thing to come out the “College Admission Scandal” is that all of us who suspected something was wrong finally have confirmation and it’s now a known fact that “The System is rigged.” At the very least, the system used in the admissions office is rigged to accommodate the rich and connected.
The next time you meet a member of America’s Upper Echelon and they don’t seem that bright to you – or are excessively dim – and you wonder how they could have possibly become a member of America’s ruling elite now you can look back at this news item and put the pieces together yourself. We now know that so many people who we regard as “successful” because they came from “Good Families” had the way paved for them. Thanks to “Operation Varsity Blues” we know there’s a good chance those parents bribed college and universities at the admissions offices.
You could give spoiled rich kids the benefit of the doubt and tell yourself that might have enjoyed a little boost to get into college, but once they got there, we’re sure they must have made it on their own. But after reading this article from Bored Panda about author Jamie Leigh’s Facebook post about how she’s often hired to help the offspring of the parasitic elite throughout their years in college by writing their essays and thesis,’ then how other writers and career coaches help those people throughout the rest of their lives, I’m convinced (again, only more so) that too many “smart and successful” people in our society are especially groomed.
They “worked hard” the same way I am a fire truck.
This is what it really means to be “Privileged and Entitled” in this time in our society; the more wealthy and prestigious a child’s family is the more likely they will be groomed for “success.” The College Admission Cheating scandal is merely one of the early phases of our societies ruling elite breeding program.
What should make every parent angry is that we now know as an actual documented fact that not only is the system rigged against us, it’s also rigged against our children.
Imagine that you are Olivia Jade’s [daughter of Lori Loughlin, who is -according to age and you applied to the same exact college and you worked your butt off throughout high school, you did all the right things, you did all the “correct“ extracurricular activities, and you got an excellent score on your SATs. But for some vague unknown reason, you weren’t able to get into that college. It’s now March 2019 and you’re reading this new story in your dorm in a lesser college or your second choice of schools. Imagine how pissed you would be reading the story and thinking that she was admitted into the school because her parents are rich and influential and your parents or not and you get the nagging feeling that Olivia Jade took the spot you earned.
What should also anger us is that the same people who are reporting the news such as the “talking heads” on the network news (and I include FOX News, MSNBC, CNN… excreta) are not only recipients of the “elite farming system,” but are most probably actively participating in it for their own this year.
A Modern Icon of Wholesomeness is A Perpetrator caught in "Operation Varsity Blues."
One of the reasons why this has caused a lot of outrage from so many of us “average” people is because it involves a celebrity that’s made a career out of playing so many “wholesome” roles in what’s regarded as good family entertainment. On various shows on The Hallmark Channel, the sitcom “Full House” and it’s follow-up “Fuller House,” Lori Loughlin made a career in pretending to be someone who is the opposite of who she actually is in the real world. She is not an upstanding woman who always does the right thing in the end, she’s not a woman who has strong morals and ethics such as the characters she played on television. People who grew up watching some of her TV shows probably feel genuinely cheated and lied to because her public persona didn’t match reality.
It’s not hard to understand why fans of that show feel betrayed. Ms. Laughlin was held up by society and the media as a morality figure, eventually revealed as a hypocrite thus we want the proverbial ‘pound of flesh.’ But we should be looking to just her for retribution, we want reparations or compensation from the media heads who sold her as this ‘ideal.’
We’re also angry at her and the rest of the perpetrators because they shattered the illusion that if you work hard you’ll get somewhere and they the very “morality figures” we were sold as examples in the media turned out to be one of the people who was compounding and perpetuating the elitism. Lori Loughlin and her daughters who benefited from the corruption are now being thrown down and vilified more harshly because of Ms. Loughlin's illusion of wholesomeness.
Everything that I’ve read on the topic at the bottom of every rant. While doing the research for this one I read about the infrastructure of this scheme and how so many people of privilege and entitlement - The Parasitic Elite and Obtuse Entitled Class – were blatantly cavalier about their actions. They didn’t care about the morality of it, they just wanted to know what they had to do and how much it costs. And as Jason Cousineau schooled me in our last podcast, it’s not that they were stupid, it’s that they were arrogant in their belief in knowing that they were going to get away with it without a thought in the world about who was going to get hurt.
How did Lori Loughlin not know that her daughter – Olivia Jade Giannulli – was not worth the effort and she’s not worth the prison sentence?
After reading all of Olivia Jade’s comments, watching some of her videos and reading about how she skipped the first week of college, (that her parents cheated and bribed her way into in the first place,) the question that should be asked; how did her parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli not know that they were wasting their time, money and resources? How did they their daughter was more interested in being a “social influencer” via Instagram and Twitter and was “college material” much the same way I was Playmate of the Year in 1994? How did they not know that she isn’t worth the prison sentence that could receive at the end of the inevitable trial?
This proves that these celebrities are clearly stupid, vapid, obtuse, and also indicative of what’s “wrong” with our society.
This is not actually a "Rigged System," This is the system.
The actual source of outrage is the sad fact that this is not a “rigged system.” This is not a system that’s broken. This is the part of the system that is exclusively for The Parasitic Elite and Obtuse Entitled Class. For them, the cheating on entrance exams for the offspring of the social elite is the system. The bribery of college officials in charge of admissions is the system. All the tutoring, coaching, ghostwriters who fill out their forms and write their papers for the ignorant children of the elite is part of the system. This is the social elite and entitled class remain ahead and on top of the rest of us who don’t have the money nor resources to participate in their program of graft and corruption.
And while it would be nice for all of us to yearn for a different time when things were “different and better” and look back to a mythological past where things like this didn’t happen because back in “The Golden Era” meritocracy reigned, it’s goes against what we actually know about human nature and the divide between those of us who can’t and won’t exploit the system and those of us who are the system. This has always been a part of the system and it's where "the Elites" have always come from.
The difference between then and now is that when this was done decades ago they were clearly better dressed, and they couldn’t be so blatantly arrogant on a social media platform that wasn’t invented yet.
