Dedicated to Carolyn in Arizona, thank you for all your support!

Jason Cousineau and Eric Renderking Fisk long-awaited conversation about the Netflix Documentary Series “The Sons Of Sam” by director/producer Joshua Zeman who also brought us “Cropsey” and “Killer Legends.”

Jay and Eric also try and make links between MKULTRA, Zodiac, and The Manson Family through the circumstantial connections or strange coincidences and similar locations. Could there be a connection between Dr. Sidney Gottlieb’s black-ops projects and the Satanic Cult “The ProcessProcess Church of the Final Judgment?”

Is there overlap between Maury Terry’s book “The Ultimate Evil: The Search for the Sons of Sam,” and Tom O’Neil’s “Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties?”

And how else do serial killers meet up and become collaborators besides local cult gatherings? If they can find each other so easily and work together, why can’t the local police nor FBI find them, too?

The Cinemaholic: "How Did John and Michael Carr Die? Did Someone Kill Them?" Viswa Vanapalli | May 5, 2021

"The 1970s were a scary few years in the country with a multitude of serial killers who were active at various times. David Berkowitz was one of them. The infamous “Son of Sam” ran rampant in the streets of New York City beginning in the mid-70s. By the time of his arrest in 1977, he had killed six women and injured seven other people with a Charter Arms .44 Caliber handgun. He had confessed to the shootings and was sentenced to life in prison for them. But more than a decade later, David alleged the involvement of a satanic cult and claimed that he was not alone in the Son of Sam murders. He had named his neighbors John and Michael Carr as being part of the group that carried out the shootings..."

"About six months after David’s arrest, 31-year-old John Carr was found dead at his girlfriend’s apartment in Minot of an apparent suicide where he shot himself. The was some speculation that the death might have been a murder. John was reported to have a daughter. In 1979, Michael Carr, 27, died in a single-car accident in Manhattan. On the show, it was also stated that Michael had struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and had joined the Church of Scientology. While their sister, Wheat Carr, did not deny John’s involvement in the occult, there was only circumstantial evidence apparently connecting her brothers to the murders."

I feel something deep in my soul about each of them. Hopefully this blog will help someone find their ancestors, so they can learn more of their story. I am not related to any of them, But someone is..."

"Son Of Sam Connections to North Dakota Part I," and "Son of Sam Connections in North Dakota Part II"

Maury Terry Author of The Ultimate Evil was able to connect the 1978 death of John Carr at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to both the Process Church and Son of Sam murders. Carr, who was shot in the head at the home of his girlfriend, was initially listed as a suicide, but it turned out, John’s father, Sam Carr of Yonkers, was the inspiration for the term “Son of Sam.” Berkowitz told Terry the group likely killed John Carr, a user of illicit drugs and diagnosed schizophrenic, because of his bizarre behavior and the fact he was untrustworthy. Berkowitz also fingered Carr as one of the Son of Sam shooters.

Michael Vail Carr was born 12 Jun 1952 in Yonkers West, NY and did have a wife I won't give her name as she is still living. Michael was killed in a car crash in New York on 04 Oct 1979 He was born 12 Jun 1952 in Yonkers New York. The police report says there were no skid marks and looked suspicious.

The Ultimate Evil

Amazon: "The Ultimate Evil: The Search for the Sons of Sam," by Maury Terry.

The true-crime cult classic that inspired an upcoming Netflix documentary series and companion podcast, The Ultimate Evil follows journalist Maury Terry’s terrifying investigation into the true evil behind the Son of Sam murders.

On August 10, 1977, the NYPD arrested David Berkowitz for the Son of Sam murders that had terrorized New York City for over a year. Berkowitz confessed to shooting 16 people and killing six with a .44 caliber Bulldog revolver, and the case was officially closed.

Journalist Maury Terry was suspicious of Berkowitz’s confession. Spurred by conflicting witness descriptions of the killer and by the Queens District Attorney, who was convinced Berkowitz didn’t act alone, Terry spent decades researching, gathering evidence, and interviewing those involved in the case. He released his initial findings in the original publication of The Ultimate Evil in 1987, in which he presented his theory that Berkowitz was a member of the Process Church of the Final Judgment, a cult responsible for the Son of Sam murders as well as other ritual murders across the country. After Terry’s death in 2015, documentary filmmaker Josh Zeman (CropseyThe Killing SeasonMurder Mountain) followed leads Terry left for him, which form the basis of his upcoming docuseries with Netflix and a companion podcast. Taken together with The Ultimate Evil, which includes a new introduction by Zeman, these works reveal the stunning intersections of power, wealth, privilege, and evil in America - from the Summer of Sam until today.

Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties

Amazon: "Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties," by Tom O'Neill

A journalist's 20-year fascination with the Manson murders leads to shocking new revelations about the FBI's involvement in this riveting reassessment of an infamous case in American history.

Over two grim nights in Los Angeles, the young followers of Charles Manson murdered seven people, including the actress Sharon Tate, then eight months pregnant. With no mercy and seemingly no motive, the Manson Family followed their leader's every order - their crimes lit a flame of paranoia across the nation, spelling the end of the 60s. Manson became one of history's most infamous criminals, his name forever attached to an era when charlatans mixed with prodigies, free love was as possible as brainwashing, and utopia - or dystopia - was just an acid trip away.

Twenty years ago, when journalist Tom O'Neill was reporting a magazine piece about the murders, he worried there was nothing new to say. Then he unearthed shocking evidence of a cover-up behind the "official" story, including police carelessness, legal misconduct, and potential surveillance by intelligence agents. When a tense interview with Vincent Bugliosi - prosecutor of the Manson Family, and author of Helter Skelter - turned a friendly source into a nemesis, O'Neill knew he was onto something. But every discovery brought more questions:

Who were Manson's real friends in Hollywood, and how far would they go to hide their ties? Why didn't law enforcement, including Manson's own parole officer, act on their many chances to stop him? And how did Manson-an illiterate ex-con-turn a group of peaceful hippies into remorseless killers?

O'Neill's quest for the truth led him from reclusive celebrities to seasoned spies, from San Francisco's summer of love to the shadowy sites of the CIA's mind-control experiments, on a trail rife with shady cover-ups and suspicious coincidences. The product of two decades of reporting, hundreds of new interviews, and dozens of never-before-seen documents from the LAPD, the FBI, and the CIA, CHAOS mounts an argument that could be, according to Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Steven Kay, strong enough to overturn the verdicts on the Manson murders. This is a book that overturns our understanding of a pivotal time in American history.
