Bruno Anthony meets tennis professional Guy Haines on a train. Bruno wants rid of his father, Guy wants rid of his wife who won't divorce him. Bruno dreams up a crazy scheme whereby he and Guy exchange murders. Guy takes this as a joke, but Bruno is serious and takes things into his own hands by murdering Guy's wife.

The plot of this Hitchcock suspenser is fairly implausible but it makes for a top notch suspense film. A wonderful performance from Robert Walker as a charming psychopath adds extra resonance to exciting sequences like the tennis match and the finale at the merry-go-round.
