Professor Henry Higgins, a rather snobbish and arrogant teacher of languages is challenged by Colonel Pickering to take a common flower girl and turn her into someone who would not be completely out of place in the social circles of upper-class English society.

This isn't the most innovative or cinematic of Broadway transfers and Audrey Hepburn's cockney flower girl isn't her finest hour. Despite these flaws though Hepburn was never more beautiful or enchanting as the more refined Eliza Doolittle and Rex Harrison is perfection as Professor Higgins and what a score !
