Adam and Amanda Bonner are married lawyers who are on opposing sides of the same case of a woman who tried to shoot her husband. Amanda turns it into a test case for the way the law deals with women but this puts the Bonners' marriage in jeopardy.

Fun battle of the sexes comedy with both stars on peak form. Tracy and Hepburn made a few good movies but this is their best, they are ably backed up by Judy Holliday, Tom Ewell and Jean Hagen.

Trivia - The Golden Age of Hollywood

This was Judy Holliday's screen debut, Hepburn encouraged her to shine and reportedly urged director Cukor to focus on her in their scenes together. Hepburn hoped Holliday would be cast in the screen version of Born Yesterday in the role she had created on Broadway. It worked.
