Henry Frankenstein wants to end his experiments with creating life but a mad scientist Dr Pretorius kidnaps his wife and blackmails Henry into creating a bride for the monster.

More comedic sequel to the original Frankenstein, the ending is a bit disappointing but the film contains some great sequences : the Monster's encounter with a blind hermit and the unveiling of the Bride are fantastic.

Director James Whale originally didn't want to do a sequel to his original film and Karloff initially thought giving the Monster a voice was a mistake.

The music to this film was recycled in the Flash Gordon serials starring Buster Crabbe.
