J.J. Hunsecker, a ruthless and powerful newspaper columnist will go to any lengths to prevent the marriage of his sister Susie to Steve Dallas.

Very cold, cynical movie filmed in crystal clear black and white. The movie's look is echoed by its subject matter,it is never less than compelling with a great performance from Burt Lancaster at the centre as the incredibly self-centred, bigoted J.J. Hunsecker who will dish dirt on anyone to get his own way.Tony Curtis is also excellent as Sidney Falco,a name that has entered the language for a fawning follower who would sell a relative down the river for career advancement.
