An Austrian businessman Oskar Schindler saves 1100 Jews from extermination during WW2.

Extraordinary and often harrowing account of the Holocaust. Shocking and moving by equal measure Spielberg uses every cinematic trick in the book to build tension and the evocative black and white photography is perfect. Performances are nicely judged too. When Neeson breaks down at the generosity of the Jews he saved and at his own inability to save more human lives dry eyes must be the result of deceptive tear ducts. One of those films everyone should see once to be reminded of the horrors man is capable of.
