General George S Patton is a tank commander during World War II. His career progresses from North Africa, through to the invasion of Germany and the fall of the Third Reich. Flaws in his character such as his temper lead to him being relieved as Occupation Commander in Germany.

Skilfull blend of the biopic and the war film with a mesmerising performance from George C Scott which brings the title character to life.

Trivia - The Golden Age of Hollywood

George C Scott refused the Oscar for Best Actor saying competition between actors was unfair.

Rod Steiger, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum and Lee Marvin all turned down the role of Patton while John Wayne eagerly wanted to do it.
