Skilfull blend of the biopic and
the war film with a mesmerising performance from George C Scott which
brings the title character to life.
George C Scott refused the Oscar for Best Actor saying competition between actors was unfair.
Rod Steiger, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum and Lee Marvin all turned down the role of Patton while John Wayne eagerly wanted to do it.
