In the South during the Depression Atticus Finch defends a black man against a bogus rape charge and his children against prejudice.

 Superb adaptation of a novel which saw the world through a child's eyes. Peck is wonderful as Atticus Finch it is perfect casting and he fully deserved his Academy Award for Best Actor.

 Trivia - The Golden Age of Hollywood

This was reportedly Gregory Peck's favourite movie and Atticus Finch was voted top screen hero of all time by the American Film Institute.

This was Robert Duvall's first film appearance as Boo Radley, he dyed his hair blonde and stayed out of the sun for six weeks to prepare for the part.
