A filmmaker remembers his childhood, when he fell in love with the movies at a village's theater and formed a deep friendship with the projectionist Alfredo.

Touching film about passion for cinema and life, it is very nostalgic for film lovers and makes you wish the golden age of neighbourhood theatres came back. Above all it puts you in the shoes of the little boy who gets behind the scenes of his passion, learning to control those flickering images on the screen.

 

The director's intention I believe fully realised was that this movie should serve as an obituary for traditional movie theatres (like the one in the film) and the movie industry in general.
