Holly Martins a writer of pulp novels
attempts to discover the mystery of the death of his friend Harry Lime.
Just who was the Third Man ?
Simply the best thriller ever to come
out
of Britain it works both as a detective story and a masterful exercise
in suspense up to the highest standards of Hitchcock. That haunting
zither music will remain with you always once you see it and visually
it is also brilliant from Welles memorable first appearance to the
image of him pushing his fingers up a drain grating. Wonderful dialogue
too.
