New Todds Costumes Indy Boots

Hey guys,

I jumped over to Todds Costumes and noticed that are releasing a new line of Indy boots very soon. From what the discriptions says that these will blow the water away from the previous inferior models from the past. At a pricepoint of $149.00 they better be pretty rock solid.

Thats what I'm thinking... Might have to get on board with these boots. Aside from being Indy boots.. I really love the look of these style boots. They go good with about everything.

Can they be resoled? I really don't like the smooth bottom associated with the Indy style boot. That type of sole is, in my opinion, only good for dress shoes or cowboy boots. So if you're in a suit or regularly slipping your boots in and out of stirrups, go for smooth soles. Otherwise give yourself at least a little traction and support.

I'd like to hear a report on these.
I have a pair of his 1st line and they are shall we say not all that good.
Even at $150. they're still way cheaper than a set of Alden's.

Asked Todd about resoling and they are of the quality that you can resole them. I tell you guys.. I'm having a hard time not getting a pair.

I wonder if you could have the option of them putting on a tread sole instead of the standard one.

Doug, What type sole would your prefer. I've seen lug type available for resole-able boots at the local shoe repair shop.

They come with standard sole to start. I've seen my local shoe repair place with a thinner profile hiking sole that would be great. I believe it's a vibram too.

Some sort of low profile Vibram non-marking sole.

Hi Emmett,

From the discription that Todd put on his site. They sound like they are worth it. I took a closer look at the photo and compared this version to the pair of substandard version that i owned. The problem area that I had was where the leather upper came together with sole. The new ones appear to have a real leather mid-sole as compared to a rubber mid-sole that ate through the leather uppers. The discription also said that the leather upper are more heavy duty.. The older pair, the uppers were of a glove leather weight. I might take chance with these aswell. But I'm fighting in the my head on the thickness of the uppers. and at the price.. they have to be bomb proof. Thats big price if they are not serious shoes.

That is the one big drawback to ordering clothing and shoes online. Do they have a return policy?
