I agree totally. But that's true of *anything* Pilot writes. No one could have worded it better, regardless of the subject. Just sayin'...

I agree that the situation of our nation is as dire as it has ever been but it is just not in me to go into that PC dream of a "Post America" without a fight. A good start would be to encourage others to vote in November and see that President Obama gets his Chevy Volt four years early.

If a Republican wins in November, you're going to see the other side of "the Bush effect." For the last 4 years we've heard how all this downhill slide was Bush's fault. If Romney or Santorum wins in Nov, the full effect of 4 years of the Obamanation will snowball to a catastrophic level, getting worse by the day. As it becomes obvious that it's irreversible you're going to see a rabid media blaming the new Repub pres for "causing it all." The propaganda ploy of blaming the Repubs will be like bookends around the Obama term.

Eric, Blackthorn, Thank you very much for the kind compliments. I really don't think I'm all that great shakes as a writer so I am very grateful that I have this forum to get things off my chest on occasion.

I don’t have much time, but I wanted to tell you that I agree with you in every aspect. I came to the conclusion several years ago that there is nothing, and I mean nothing, worth our presence in that country (the good Major’s factoid considered). You cannot give liberty to a people; they must desire it themselves and be willing to take on the sacrifices required. Have no fear my friend, you are in good company and in our world truth is more important than political correctness.
