Firefox 7 - what's the big deal?

How about a table where people can talk about the technology we use to keep in touch with other retrocentrics and vintage aficionados? From Blackberry's to WiFi, to the latest desk or laptops to breathing new life to old CPU's using Fedora Open Source...

Firefox 7 - what's the big deal?

My laptop just uploaded "Firefox 7 Beta" and I'm not noticing any major changes.

Anyone else?

My current machine doesn't have the power or space for me to be playing around with software like that. After I get a job, I'm going to build me a nice machine, but right now I just don't have the scratch. I haven't really paid any attention to the "street" on Firefox 7. Chances are they didn't do much on the user interface but created all sorts of newer stuff behind the screen so they can do new user stuff later.

Folks don't like change in general, so you gotta ease them into it.

Ain't that the truth. Take the recent changes in Facebook and Netflix. The babyish whining and crying is downright ridiculous. You don't like Netflix's price hike. Stop subscribing. Renting movies is a luxury, not a necessity. You don't like Facebook changing up on you? Stop using it or deal with it.

I couldn't agree more Derrick.

The only beef I had with Facebook was the virtually blank pages with the "Rockmelt" browser. Otherwise the new layout took some getting used to, now I just don't mind.

I used to be on facebook quite a bit, .. but I found their games and such suspiciously buggy. Later I heard from others that many of them have been hacked by other users. Now I just use it to keep track of some friends and family and have the security cranked way up. I probably use it only 15 minutes a day or so.

I have a facebook page but don't know much about it... just use for a couple of friends and to keep tabs with some folks from different forums but we seem to have drifted further apart once we went to facebook and left the forums.....

I know very little about it and look at it daily but that is about it........
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

Firefox8 Screen Capture

... And I got the pictures to prove it. I don't know why they are chosing this number scheme nor why they aren't calling this beta "7.1" or something else. They seem to be in a huge hurry to catch up to Google Chrome or desperate to keep on top.
