Up Yours, Death!

Postby Doug Palumbo » Mon Jun 27, 2011 3:06 pm

Well, I took quite the spill yesterday. We went for a family bike ride. My oldest left the padding for his helmet in the shed. My wife gave him hers and I gave my wife mine. Yes, I know, I should have sent my son back to the shed so we all would have had our own helmets. On the way home, I gave a quick glance back to check on my kids. When I turned back front, I went ass over crown. Next thing I knew I was staring up at the sky and I couldn't breathe or move. No joke, I really thought my ticket was punched for sure.

There is more to tell but that's all for now. I am home from the hospital with a few staples in my head and a healthy respect for ALWAYS wearing a helmet.

I'll post some pics later.

Doug, I'm glad to hear that you weren't done in either by the accident or the food in the hospital. :)

Never got food or drink in the hospital, except for the stuff you have to drink for the MRI. Was there for about 10 hours. Getting better. Had some rice and Sprite this morning, then two dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets and some fruit.

Just an RX for super Motrin (on that now) and some Tylenol with Codeine ( haven't taken that one yet though).

Ok, I hope you went bike riding for fun, but if the family went bike riding for exercise...Here is SOG's Health Message of the Day for exercise and long life....

1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal. Guess I should have posted this before Sunday.

2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is fat.

3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.

4. A tortoise doesn't run, does nothing ..yet lives for 450 years.

Need I say MORE ???

I'm glad it wasn't any worse, Doug! Thank God for that.

Me too! However, it wouldn't have taken much to be worse.
