Well it has to be the first one I ever had in my collection now, way back in 1977. The soundtrack that had a theme for everything in the film - from the Force to Leia.
Star Wars.
After 34 years, I know every note of the sountrack by heart.
But like JB I have many others that he listed also.

I enjoy a lot of soundtrack music perhaps because it is in association with the film. In saying that I don't mean I can listen to all the music for every film I've enjoyed but I can find a favorite track or two. In no particular order and not consisting of a complete list.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Rocketeer
Hollywood Confidential
The Untouchables
Mummy III
The Aviator
Pearl Harbor
Swing Kids
Shanghai Triad
Chinatown
Star Wars
Lawrence of Arabia
The Magnificent Seven
The Great Escape
Ragtime

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I'm not familiar with the music of Ragtime. I wonder if it's available on Amazon for mp3 download.

They have two versions, one from the film and one from the play.

Honestly Eric, in my opinion, and it is just that an opinion, there isn't a dime's worth of difference between them. Like I said, I don't like every tune on the soundtrack but there are one or two keepers. If you go to the Amazon link you can hear snippets of each.

I have to add Fabulous Baker Boys and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon soundtracks to my list.
