Vincent Price?

Well, he wrote some cookbooks and a column on art.... I admit I haven't read them, but they don't sound like the sort of thing that would be particularly macabre.

Well, Lovecraft and Poe. If we're talking monster horror, then it's easily Lovecraft. If' we're talking a more plausible vein of nightmare, Edgar Allen Poe. I always sort of thought Poe put in print the same kind of commonplace lunacy that served Hitchcock so well in film.
Get it together? Lady, last time my people got it together it took most of Robert E. Lee's backyard to bury the evidence.
