massive protests in Europe

This is being mostly ignored in the US news agencies. I can't understand why.

In my opinion this is being ignored by the media in this country because the majority of the mainstream media does not want us to know about the down side of a "Nanny state". I think that most of the news outlets are far left leaning and feel justified in conducting a little propaganda by omission.

By the way, good find.

I think you nailed it, Pilot. And I like that, "propaganda by omission."

By the way, good find.

Thanks, Pilot.

So its a good thing the recession is over, eh?

Exactly, just like the combat in Iraq is over (so those killed now don't really count as points against us when we add up the totals).

I think the rule of thumb here is that if a bad thing can't be blamed on Bush, it didn't happen.

I live very close to DC and I've met more than my fair share of politicians and reporters, but I have to say I've never seen anything like quite like this joining of the Administration and the media. Perhaps the issue is that most of the media moguls are retros of a sort and subscribe to the Joseph Goebbels school of journalism.

They're afraid that the people will see what is going on over in Europe, get the same idea and start protests in mass. That someone might get the idea to drive a Cement truck into a Capitol building because he is tired of paying for the mistakes that the banks made. Keep us ignorant & divided and we're easy to control. United & educated, wise to their snake oil speeches, & we are dangerous. There is a small percentage of folks that are walking around with their eyes open, but being a small percentage does not effect change. If more people saw this coverage on the daily news they would protest too. Government doesn't want that.

Cheers!
