I've always liked THAT 70's SHOW. I like sit-coms that actually make me laugh, y'know? For every sit-com that I like there's at least a dozen others that I simply don't get and don't find funny in the least.

Netflix got a real workout in my house today as I was home all day long nursing a sick wife. Watched G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA by myself then she joined me for an eight episode marathon of HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL (my favorite western) and I think I'll finish up the night with some RAT PATROL.

DL. First, I hope your wife is feeling better. Second, I am so happy to find someone else who enjoys "Have Gun Will Travel". I watched it as a very small child and I think it may have helped form some of my ideas on quite a few things. In my humble opinion it was and is one of the best written shows on TV.

If it is the one I'm thinking of he played the bad guy. Perhaps he is keeping his dude card by acting in a Soap Opera under an assumed name to avoid War Crime Tribunals for best actor playing a NAZI in a fictional series. :D

Thanks for asking! Patricia's doing a little better but she's still got a pretty nasty cough. When she gets better I'm going to nag her for not getting a flu shot like I did.

Some of my best childhood memories are of watching HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL and THE WILD, WILD WEST with my father. I got my love of westerns from both my parents.

Ok...I've watched the first two episodes of Firefly on Netflix. Now I didn't get through the film as I found it dry and drawn out but the show is fantastic! With my new found intrest, I'll be sure to watch the film again.

Wait till you see the episode where the crew contracts to protect a "House of Companions". The episode had everything that I'd enjoyed in the film "The professionals". It is also a really good basic class in defending a fixed position against light cavalry. :D

And, I think that they are playing Fire Fly on the SyFy Channel now. I've seen the advertisements of it for about two weeks now.

Cheers!

OK, I finished watching the show, all 14 episodes on Netflix. Out of the 14, 10 were OUTSTANDING, 3 were EXCELLENT and 1 was REALLY DAMN GOOD! It's really a shame that I haven't discovered this sooner and that is was cancelled so prematurely. I hope someday to see a sequel to the feature Serenity or direct to DVD movies or episodes.

Speaking of the film Serenity, I'll give myself a few days of Firefly rest before watching it again. As I said previously, I tried watching the film some time ago but couldn't sit through the whole thing. Now that I know the characters and back-story, I am looking forward to revisiting the film and maybe writing a full review.

Nathan Fillion would like to play Mal again. Some other folks would love to see him do it, too. Patrick Rothfuss, a new author on the fantasy scene just may end up with the capital to do it, too. He's being hailed as his generation's J R R Tolkein.

'No, YOU move.'" - Captain America

A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

We have two more seasons of "That 70's Show" and then we'll be finished and I'll write my rant about how it holds up and what do I think about it again after watching every episode straight through.

I got the full series DVD set and the film last year as gifts. It really is a great show. Any Castle fans? They have made no less than six references to Firefly or Serenity on the show. My daughter and I now watch just looking for the reference.

In case you want to know the six we found, here they are

The obvious one - the Halloween costume (1), but there is also a part from Serenity (2) on the bookshelves in that scene
"I was aiming for his head" when Castle shoots the gun out of a bad-guy's hand (reference to Jayne) (3)
Castle learned to speak Chinese "from a TV show" (4)
Becket said she was "Shiny" (5)
His mother is taking his daughter to a spa named Serenity ("remember Serenity" is her line)(6)

Any ones other may have caught?

Last night, I watched the third episode of The Brady Bunch. I'm a late 1980s/'90s kid, and it's even nostalgic for me to watch that show again. I used to watch it on "Nick at Night" very often, as well as older classics like I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island, The Andy Griffith Show, Leave it to Beaver, and some others. I didn't just watch cartoons on that channel.

I have not seen Castle but I hear a lot of good things about it. I'll catch it someday.

As for the Brady Bunch, I was never much of a fan. I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver though, now that's classic television at it's finest!

I watched THE BRADY BUNCH but I can't ever say I was a fan. I LOVE LUCY I never get tired of.

Nobody ever seems to mention GREEN ACRES, tho. One of the most surreal sitcoms ever. It never gets enough respect far as I'm concerned.

"Green Acres" was a must watch show when I was a kid. It was funny and proof that Ava was the hotter sister.

I don't remember all of the episodes but the one that sticks in my mind was the flashback to when Oliver met Lisa. Oliver was an Army pilot with engine trouble and Lisa was in the Hungarian underground.
What I remember most was the scene when Oliver was about to bail out of his bird and an English voice came over his radio saying,"If you can, make your way to Stalag 13 and ask for a bloke named Hogan."
