Crazy fun!
I like her better in these comedic skits than as Donna Noble. She always seemed an odd fit for Doctor Who.

Really? Donna's my second favorite Companion, right behind Sarah Jane Smith.

Watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special with Michael Gambon.

Yeah, there was just something about Donna Noble that put me off. Did like her Granddad Wilfred Mott though.

Cheers!

Last night we watched Doctor Who at the Proms. We had it DVR recorded from Christmas day as we had been out of town. Basically they did a fantastic musical tripute to this last season of Doctor Who through music at the The Royal Albert Hall. Full orchestra, villains in costume and the cast as announcers and entertainment in between sets. It's amazing how music can really draw out emotions. The show was a load of fun and made me want to get some of the music for our ipod.

Cheers!

The FAMILY GUY episode "And Then There Were Fewer". For the first time in a looooong time, a FAMILY GUY episode kept me laughing all the way through. It was a pretty good spoof of movies such as "And Then There Were None" "Clue" and "Murder By Death". And most surprising of all, it was an actual murder mystery that surprised me at the end when the murderer was finally revealed. The episode didn't cheat or cop out and had the murderer logically explain how they committed the murders. A really good episode with great guest voices such as James Woods and Drew Barrymore.

My current TV guilty pleasure is Criminal Minds. It's my new Law & Order because it's on all the time and just doesn't seem to get old.

Been catching up on the Christmas cooking shows that we recorded. The ones for Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay. Pretty good stuff. I can't wait to try some of what they did on those shows. :D

Cheers!

Last night it was Masters of Survival I think on National Geographic. Had some really great survival tips, so I DVR'd it for further review to take notes.

Cheers!

The latest show I watched was actually a Japanese anime, Lupin III. It was episode 77 or so of the second season. This particular episode was probably one of the weaker capers in the series, but it was still entertaining, and this marks my last episode of the 2003 English dub to watch, as I've seen the rest of the dubbed episodes already. It used to be on Adult Swim from around 2003 to 2006, but it only showed twenty-six episodes. My cousin introduced me to the show back one day, and I got into watching this, and still do sporadically to this day.

There's supposedly also a rumor that Steven Spielberg liked one of the series' movies, "The Castle of Cagliostro," and he considers it to be one of the greatest adventure films of all time, "There is a long-standing rumour that Steven Spielberg saw Castle of Cagliostro when it was shown at the Cannes film festival and called its car chase one of the greatest chase sequences ever filmed, and/or called Cagliostro 'one of the greatest adventure movies of all time.' While this rumour has not been specifically verified, Manga Video considered it credible enough to mention on the back cover of its DVD release." I wonder if this is true. I know I've read another post before connecting George Lucas to the film. It does make me wonder if this was at least some inspiration behind "Raiders of the Lost Ark", if it could have been the general pacing of the film's action, or some of the romance... Of course, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and the Indiana Jones series in general is obviously, mostly inspired by Golden Age adventure films and serials.

I've seen CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO and yeah, it IS one of the greatest adventure movies ever made. It's right up there with RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, GUNGA DIN, THE ROCKETEER and just about any other of your favorite adventure movie you can name. It's a movie that deserves to be in your home DVD library.

Alright, cool. I've seen it before as well, maybe two times if memory serves right. I would definitely rank it up there as one of my favorite films of all time. It's a good animated film in it's own right, but a large part of it, for me, is the association with the Lupin III series. It's one of the relatively few anime series out there I really like for some reason. The only one in my opinion that could top that, is Cowboy Bebop. I tend to tie the two as being just about as good, though, when ranking my favorite series...

I said it before and I'll say it again, Being Human on BBC (I watch it online). Odd premise but solid writing with good actors.

I also caught the SyFy version...and it wasn't terrible. I was expecting to hate it as I am quite involved with the characters from the original on the BBC but to my surprise, SyFy pulled it off (so far as I've only seen the pilot episode). Same basic story but with a few different tweaks.

"Castle" with Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. It airs on ABC and it is about the only show I watch with regularity. It's got a nice premise and solid characters. The dialogue is sharp and funny. Beckett and Castle have got a great bantering relationship going on. The show isn't terribly original but it's a nice change of pace from the dark and gritty cop shows that are on nowadays. It's a fun and light-hearted show that will keep me entertained for quite a while.

As you can tell, I enjoy Castle tremendously. What do ya'll think of the show?
