We've had a lot of rain here as well in the last 2 or 3 weeks, HH.

I have no problem wearing my custom beaver felt hats in bad weather (including my Penman). Trust me they can take it. I also wear my rabbit felt, Campdraft and Garrison Raiders hats, they don't care a bit.

I'm much more careful with my vintage hats though, I have no idea what a soaking will do to them, but I suspect I won't be happy! :D

Did stop raining this afternoon though - I ventured out in my grey Whippet from the early 50's.

Thanks, Blackthorn. I've been really lucky to be able to acquire some nice hats this last 18 months or so.

Of course, being able to wear size 7 and 7 1/8 helps a lot :D
Cheers!

H Herdick, That is a very nice Panama. SOG introduced me to Panamas a year or two ago and they are the thing to wear in Summer in the DC area.

I just ordered another Panama from Bob (Weber) this past weekend. It should arrive today or tomorrow. You can't go wrong with a Panama from Panama Bob. :D

So true. He's excellent to deal with, and supplies great Panamas. I have several from him.

I know, some guys are wearing a panama at this time. It's windy and about 18 C in Holland and a few drops of rain. So on my bike in the windy weather my Penman.

That high crown looks good on you.

Agreed, lid look great on you. I for one can't wear a high crown hat. Makes my big head look bigger. I prefer a shorter crown and brim.

Nice weather, so a panama during a bike-tour with my wife (she took actually the photograph). It's not the same hat as above.

Too hot for me to wear my fedora. Maybe because it is tight and needs a bit of stretching. I tend to go with ball caps when it is warm and humid. Maybe I should try a stingy brim Panama some day (if they make em') or a light weight breathable Irish flat cap, as those are my prefered headwear when it is cooler. I guess I am more Jim Malone than Eliot Ness.

Wearing my new hiking hat, an Akubra Banjo Patterson. I got Parker Melvin to take off the fish-skin band and put a fedora style ribbon on, and put grommets on the sides so I can wear it in hotter weather:

Yesterday Cousi was wearing his Fed Chron Penman, while I wore a VS Art Fawcett:
