Yes, the hat is packable. But I never did. So I cannot tell anymore. The hat can stand the rain very well, but with heavy rain, the hat is 'leaking'.

Keep a grip on the brim. From what I remember of the weather in the BENELUX that rain is never by itself, it always brings a nice stiff breeze with it.
