Sad news indeed. Dick Clark passed away this morning of a heart attack at the age of 82.
He was huge innovator and an inspiration to many. New Years Eve will not be the same. Rest in Peace sir.

Famed television personality Dick Clark died of a heart attack Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, his spokesman confirms. Clark was 82.

Clark is best known for hosting long-running television shows such as "American Bandstand," the game show "Pyramid" and "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve."

He was nicknamed "America's oldest teenager" and maintained his youthful looks into his 70s.

Massive heart attack at 82..........

I am sure that somewhere he is still entertaining .........RIP

He was one of those whom we all thought would be around forever. A sad day for the entertainment industry and all of us...RIP.

I remember watching his Rockin' New Year growing up. After his stroke a few years back, he hosted it again with slurred speech and I remember thinking 'who's going to do this after Dick Clark is gone?' Apparently that douche bag Ryan Seacrest. :roll:

Did anyone else make it to American Bandstand ????

Yes I was lucky enough to be on Dick Clark's Bandstand, also on 9 Teen Time Ohio Valley's version of American Bandstand hosted by Del Curtis...

I remember that Dick Clark was a very shy guy off camera, That surprised me because I thought he was very dynamic on the air .....

I looked a little different then,,,,,

I wore my hair a bit different also....LOL

Flat top, long on the sides, duck tail and sex curl in the front.....Now THAT IS RETRO BABY !!

Guess I shouldn't laugh at the kids going around with the statue of liberty spikes on their heads anymore.... :lol:

Impressive SOG, probably the only one here to make it on American Band Stand. Great hair cut too, you should post that one in our Haircut section for posterity.
