Plus as Vader, why couldn't he use Force Lightning like all other Sith out there? Even in some of the video games other part mechanical Sith could use this tool. All he seemed good at was strangling folks that disagreed with him and grabbing an object with the force and chuck it at someone.
As far as a Sith Lord goes Vader seemed puny in ability. All he had going for him was his intimidation factor that his mask and mechanical body provided.
Actually, Vader was more powerful than Yoda. (George Lucas revealed that fact, himself.) In fact, of all the Jedis and Siths, he was the most powerful one of all. This is why he was the "Chosen One" in the Ancient Jedi prophecy.
There's a few storylines in the comics where Lord Vader went completely berserk, and singlehandely destroyed an army. (And yes, it was confirmed by Lucasfilm that he is THAT powerful, so I wouldn't call him, "Puny".)
Keep in mind too, that during the Jedi purge from "Order 66", he hunted & killed whole groups of Jedi Knights long before Luke Skywalker grew up in Tatooine.
His helmet & armor is also blaster proof. (And light saber proof to a limited extent.)
It was explained by George Lucas that Vader couldn't use "Force Lightning" due to his mechanical arms, but he could deflect them easily. (He just couldn't use them.)
The video games however, would completely ignore Lucas's rule, and they would show Siths with mechanical arms being able to use "Force Lightning". (But then, I don't really count the video games as "canon" in any way to the movies.)
In the video games like "Force Unleashed", Vader's apprentice, "Starkiller" was given ridiculous super godlike powers, instead of Sith powers. (Which was very contradictory to the movies.) "Starkiller" could crush a Imperial Star Destroyer with one easy swipe of his hand, he could destroy an entire Imperial army, (Including full size Imperial Walkers) with a single easy push of his hand, kill several giant bull Rancors in a matter of seconds with a single lightsaber, and he could destroy an entire city with one easy push of his hand. (Not even the Avengers or Superman is THAT powerful.)
I'm surprised that the video game designers didn't make "Starkiller" with the power to be able to destroy a planet with a single snap of his fingers.
If their apprentice is as powerful as a god, why would Emperor Palpatine, and Lord Vader even need a Death Star or an Imperial army & space fleet? (With those kind of ridiculous godlike powers, "Starkiller" could have destroyed the Death Star, the combined Imperial fleet & Rebel fleet with one swipe of his hand.)
Personally, I think the video game designers went way overboard on "the Force Unleashed" game. (This means that the stuff that you see in the video games are not, and should not, be really be considered as "canon" in the Star Wars universe.)
Another thing that bugs... If nobody in the past took JarJar Binks seriously, why did they take him seriously in the Senate. All the other Senators would have had information on him like they had on each other. So, they would have known that he was a complete water head and would have shot his proposal down when he announced giving emergency powers to Palpatine. I mean, politicians are the same no matter where one goes in the universe.
I don't know about that. I've seen politicians in office on our own planet who say & do even dumber things than Jar Jar Binks. In fact, some of them would even make Jar Jar Binks look like a super genius.
