The Manchurian Candidate. Haven't seen the version with Denzel Washington & Liev Schreiber so I can't say which one is better.

Dan, In my humble opinion despite MR Washington's best efforts the remake isn't fit to carry the water for the original. I was really disappointed but the writing in the remake seemed sub par and provided none of the suspense or intrigue of the 1962 film.

Yeah, that's what I thought. It seemed to me that a retread with a modern war as the background was a weak way to go. None of the intrigue of the Cold War possibilities.
