Yea, I'll rent movies from Redbox or Amazon-Instant-Video... I just can't see spending a ton of dough on a disk for just one movie any more.

For most films you are probably right. In my opinion however there are some films that have become important to me for any number of reasons, the Rocketeer being one of them, that I want available at all times.

Silverado, Robocop and The Adventures of Robin Hood are all movies I have bought since getting a Blu Ray player and surround sound system. I hope to add The Rocketeer soon. I would like to add The Mark of Zorro and a half dozen others...that's my staple stock of favorites I can never get tired of.

I've been doing a lot of reading about things are going to get a lot interesting in the near future when broadband becomes faster and more prevalent.

My son and daughter went together and got me a Blue Ray player for Christmas. Now all I need is an HD movie...guess I'll be re-buying some favorites....again!

I did get Rocketeer on BluRay. Sharp and clear when it needs to be and a bit grainy and raw at other times. I like the 'unpolished' scenes as a contrast to the BluRay quality footage as they add a bit of old-fashioned charm and ambiance to the film.
